Implementation of a proposed rationalisation plan.
Recommendation:
3. The Court considers that the implementation of the
rationalisation plan is essential to the survival of the Bank and
therefore recommends that it be accepted without further delay
subject to the following amendments to the terms of the severance
package offered by the Company.
REDUNDANCY PAY
(a) 5 weeks pay per year of service inclusive of statutory
redundancy entitlements.
(b) A minimum payment to redundant staff of #2,500
(c) Payment to be made in lieu of minimum notice and holidays.
STAFF CARS
(d) Staff should be given a discount of 20% off the book value or
market value whichever is lower.
PENSION
(e) The Court does not recommend any change in the Company's
proposals on this matter.
FUTURE EMPLOYMENT
(f) The Court recommends that in the selection of staff for
continued employment due regard should be given to experience
and service and, in the allocation of any collection work on
outstanding debts, a preference should be shown to former
employees.

SUBJECT:
1. Implementation of a proposed rationalisation plan.
BACKGROUND:
2. Following failure of the parties to agree at a conciliation
conference held on 1st December, 1987, the Court investigated the
above dispute on 8th December. The following is the Court's
recommendation.
RECOMMENDATION:
