The introduction of rostered working for porters at the new hospital.
Recommendation:
The Court, having regard to the need to run the new hospital in
the most efficient manner and the relatively short notice which
the union has been given of the intention to introduce rostered
working, makes the following recommendation.
The management of the hospital should give clear notice now of its
intention to introduce rostered working for the porters in
the hospital and the date on which this will commence. This date
should not be until the working arrangements in the new locations
have settled down. In the meantime present arrangements should
continue. Prior to the introduction of rostered working the
parties should meet and discuss its detailed implementation and
the amount of compensation which should be paid to those who are
adversely affected by the proposed change. The question of the
amount of compensation to be paid should, if necessary, be
referred to a third party so that it can be paid on the
introduction of the change.
