Labour Court Database __________________________________________________________________________________ File Number: CD88936 Case Number: LCR12193 Section / Act: S67 Parties: B + I LINE - and - FEDERATED WORKERS UNION OF IRELAND |
Claim for overtime payments in respect of approximately 105 ships officers during dry docking.
Recommendation:
3. The Court has noted that the duration of dry docking has
undergone considerable changes since the original Agreement was
negotiated and also that detailed discussions or negotiations have
not taken place between the parties on the Union's claim for
increased overtime payments. The Court, therefore recommends that
the parties should now negotiate overtime arrangements to reflect
the new situation which should operate in respect of dry dockings
which will take place subsequent to July, 1989.
In the meantime, the Court, noting the general thrust and
provisions of the survival plan recommends that the claimants
should co-operate with management in working overtime in
accordance with the provisions of the existing Agreement during
the dry docking due to take place on 15th January next.
