Recommendation:
3. The Court having considered the submissions from both parties
recommends that the following amended proposals be accepted by
both parties in full settlement of all outstanding items involved
in the claim.
Payment terms - #200 once-off lump-sum (Paid)
6% increase in basic pay effective from 9th November, (5% Paid)
Terms of National Wage Agreement effective from 1st January, 1989.

Bonus of 1 week pay - due Summer 1989 -
2 Additional days leave for 4 group shift workers.
Canteen facilities: As agreed (details as set out in Page 2, of
Company submission to Court)
Public Holidays: As agreed (details as set out on Page 5 of
Company submission to Court)
Shift Premium: 36.50% for 4 Group shift workers.
Phase-out of Shift: Company's proposal (with shift payment as
above) to be reviewed at the end of 2 years.
Fixed Term Contract: 2 years.
Arbitration: Duration - 2 years. The parties agree that
issues arising will be dealt with without
delay.

IRISH TRANSPORT AND GENERAL WORKERS' UNION
SUBJECT:
1. Various issues arising from the introduction of new work
practices.
BACKGROUND:
2. The Court investigated the above mentioned dispute on 27th
January, 1989. The following is the Court's recommendation.
RECOMMENDATION:
3. The Court having considered the submissions from both parties
recommends that the following amended proposals be accepted by

in the claim.
