Labour Court Database __________________________________________________________________________________ File Number: CD93122 Case Number: LCR14068 Section / Act: S26(4) Parties: BRAUN IRELAND LIMITED - and - SERVICES INDUSTRIAL PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL UNION |
Claim by the Unon for an increase in setters rate of pay.
Recommendation:
3. The only appropriate procedure for addressing the claim of the
setters is the job evaluation system for industrial employees.
The Court has already stated that it does not consider the staff
job evaluation scheme as an appropriate means of addressing the
issue. Without an assessment as described above the Court does
not find grounds to accede to the claim.
The Court notes that the Company are currently negotiating changes
which will radically affect the setters. The Court would
recommend that the parties seek to resolve their differences
through negotiations on these changes.
The Court so recommends.
