Labour Court Database __________________________________________________________________________________ File Number: CD94677 Case Number: LCR14631 Section / Act: S26(1) Parties: ROYAL NATIONAL LIFEBOAT INSTITUTION - and - SERVICES INDUSTRIAL PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL UNION |
Dispute arising from the proposed re-location of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution's (R.N.L.I.) maintenance base.
Recommendation:
As the main source of disagreement was removed during the Court
hearing - the requirement for the family to move to Dublin - the
Court recommends that the employees accept the proposal for
rationalisation of fleet maintenance, subject to the following
conditions:-
(1) The once-off payment of #2,000 compensation for travel
expenses be paid for disallowing travel expenses from
home in future.
(2) Employees to be at Dublin base as required.
(3) Severance package to be increased to 3.50 weeks' pay per
year of service plus statutory entitlement.
(4) As the financial effect of the changes cannot be
assessed at this stage, a review should take place in
September 1995.
