Investigation arising out of a clarification sought of LCR13702.
Recommendation:
The Court, having considered the views of the parties, recommends
the following as a basis for a resumption of normal working and a
resolution of the issues in dispute:
1. That all the workers dismissed be reinstated subject to a
commitment by the workers concerned that all issues in
dispute will be dealt with in accordance with the agreed
procedures, and that cattle in the lairage will be killed on
day of receipt;
2. That management will ensure that issues in dispute are dealt
with as expeditiously as possible;
3. That immediately on a resumption of normal working, the
Company's Industrial Engineer, together with the Union's
Industrial Engineer will study disputed standards and agree
targets. The studies to be carried out jointly or as agreed
between the work study practitioners;
4. The bonus earnings be calculated in accordance with the
standards and targets agreed in accordance with Clause 3
above, any shortfall in bonus as a result of adjustments to
targets to be paid to the workers concerned.
The Court noted that good Industrial Relations has existed between
the parties for some time. In the interests of maintaining and
developing this climate between the parties, the Court recommends
that they agree that issues in dispute will be dealt with as
expeditiously as possible, without any action being taken by
either party contrary to the agreed industrial relations
procedures.

SUBJECT:
1. Investigation arising out of a clarification sought of

2. A Labour Court investigation took place on the 28th of June,
1994.
RECOMMENDATION:
