BACKGROUND:
2. The Labour Court investigated the above matter on the 27th of July, 1999. The Court's Decision is as follows:
DECISION:
The Court considers that the medical circumstances of the claimant and the fact that an on-going process aimed at resolving her complaint had been underway constitute reasonable cause for the delay in referring this case within the statutory time limit. The Court has also had regard to the stated position of the University in not opposing this application and its acceptance that its position has not been prejudiced by the delay.
In these circumstances the Court decides that the complaint be referred to an Equality Officer for investigation and recommendation.
