1. Appeal against Equality Officer's Recommendation Dec - E - 2001/5
BACKGROUND:
2. The worker appealed her case to the Labour Court on the 7th of March, 2001, in accordance with Section 21 of the Employment Equality Act, 1977. Labour Court hearings took place on the 29th of June, and the 20th and 21st of September, 2001.
DETERMINATION:
The material facts of this case, together with the findings and conclusion of the Court, are as recited in Determination No. DEE021 entitled "Two Female Teachers v A Boys' secondary school."
As appears from the said Determination, the Court finds that the claimant's complaint of discrimination is well founded, and she is awarded compensation in the amount of euro 20, 000.
