The decision of the Tribunal was as follows:-
The appellant gave evidence that he received notice on the 30th June 2008, he sought redundancy four weeks later and received no counter offer of work.
No evidence was offered on behalf of the respondent.
Determination:
Under the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 2007, the Tribunal finds that the appellant is entitled to a redundancy lump sum based on the following details:
Date of birth: 28 May 1967
Date of commencement: 19 April 2004
Date of termination: 30 June 2008
Gross weekly pay: €580.00
This award is made subject to the appellant having been in insurable employment under the Social Welfare Acts during the relevant period.
