This case came before the Tribunal by way of an appeal by the former employee against a recommendation made by a Rights’ Commissioner reference r-110705-pw-11/EH
The decision of the Tribunal was as follows:
Having heard and considered the evidence adduced varies the recommendation of the Rights Commissioner and awards the appellant €3811.42 under the Payments of Wages Act, 1991. This amount includes a sum illegally deducted from the appellant’s wages due to the respondent’s sloppy and unorthodox management of the appellant’s personal taxation situation.
