This case concerns an allegation by the CPSU ("the Union") that Telecom Eireann - now Eircom ("the Company") - held an internal competition for posts as "Major Customer Representatives" and restricted eligibility to staff in certain grades, thereby discriminating against the 4 complainants on grounds of their sex contrary to the provisions of Section 3 of the Employment Equality Act, 1977 in terms of Section 2 of that Act. The Company rejects the allegation.
