Background:
The respondent advised the Tribunal that they considered the appellant to be on temporary lay-off since October 2012. They did not respond to RP9 forms served on them by the appellant and no offer of any more work was made. The business has now been sold.
Determination:
The Tribunal finds that the appellantwas dismissed by reason of redundancy.Accordingly, the appeal under the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 2007 is allowed and the appellant is awarded a statutory lump sum under those Acts, and based on the following information:

Date of Termination: 22 October 2012
Gross Weekly Wage: €480.00
This award is made subject to the appellant having been in insurable employment under the Social Welfare Consolidation Act, 2005 during the relevant period.
