This appeal came before the Tribunal by way of an employee appealing against the determination of the Rights Commissioner reference no. r-119694-pw112/MMG dated 14 May 2012
Determination
The appellant told the Tribunal that she commenced employment with the respondent on the 30 May 2005 and remained there until early August 2011. On the 4 August 2011 she received a text message that the school had ceased trading. The appellant received payslips which indicated that she was entitled to payment for wages, notice and annual leave in the amount of €2,598.75 which she never received.
On the uncontested evidence of the appellant the Tribunal finds that she is entitled to compensation of €2,598.75 under the Payment of Wages Act, 1991 and affirms the determination of the Rights Commissioner.
