Having heard and considered this case the Tribunal finds that the appellant’s employment was terminated by the respondent by way of redundancy. Accordingly, the appeal under the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 2007 is allowed and the appellant is awarded a statutory lump sum under those Acts, and based on the following:
Date of Birth: 13 June 1955
Date of Commencement : 16 January 2006
Date of Termination: 24 April 2012
Non-Reckonable Service: lay off from 5 May 2011 to 24 April 2012.
Gross Weekly Wage: €1012.00
A statutory weekly ceiling of €600.00 applies to payments from the Social Insurance Fund.
This award is made subject to the appellant having been in insurable employment under the appropriate Social Welfare Acts during the relevant period.
