Appellant’s case:

The appellant was employed by the 1^st named respondent as a cleaner from 10^th October 2005 until 5^th April 2013.

The business of the 1^st named respondent was taken over by the 2^nd named respondent but this company did not require cleaners and therefore the appellant was let go by the 1^st named respondent on 5^th April 2013. However the appellant did not receive any redundancy payment.

At the time of termination of employment the appellant was earning €65.00 per week.

Respondent’s case:

There was no appearance by or on behalf of the respondents and the Tribunal is satisfied that they were properly notified of the hearing.

Determination:

Having considered the uncontested evidence of the appellant the Tribunal awards her a lump sum redundancy payment under the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 2007 based on the following criteria. The 1^st named respondent is liable for this payment.
