The Tribunal is satisfied that the respondent and its representative were properly notified of this hearing. Neither the respondent nor a representative on its behalf appeared for this hearing.
The decision of the Tribunal was as follows:
Having heard the uncontested evidence of the appellant the Tribunal finds his employment terminated with the respondent by way of redundancy. Accordingly, the appeal under the Redundancy Payment Acts, 1967 to 2007 is allowed and the appellant is awarded a statutory redundancy lump sum under those Acts, and based on the following:
Date of Commencement: 15 May 2007
Date of Termination: 13 November 2012
Gross Weekly Wage: €573.20
The appeal under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Acts, 1973 to 2005 also succeeds and the appellant is awarded €2292.80 as compensation- that amount being the equivalent to four weeks’ notice.
