The decision of the Tribunal was as follows:-
Determination
The appellant told the Tribunal that his last day at work for the respondent was 10 December 2011. An injury to his leg resulted in him being unfit to work until July 2012. The respondent told him that the company was not doing well.
The respondent’s representative told the Tribunal that the owner died in September 2013.
The Tribunal finds that a redundancy situation existed in this case and awards the appellant a redundancy lump sum under the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 to 2007 based on the following information:
Date Employment Started: 15 February 2003
Date Employment Ended: 01 August 2012
Gross Weekly Pay: €600.00
This award is made subject to the appellant having been in insurable employment under the Social Welfare Acts during the relevant period.
