There was no application for an adjournment before the Tribunal. The claimant had been made aware that he could make such an application.
Whilst the Tribunal had some preliminary concerns around the issue of notification of the hearing date to the claimant the latter did not avail of the opportunity given to him to apply for an adjournment whereby the Tribunal could have heard from him on the issue of notification and given the matter informed consideration.
The respondent made an application for the claim to be struck out.
Having considered the matter at length the Tribunal strikes out the claim under the Unfair Dismissals Acts, 1977 to 2007, for want of prosecution.
