The decision of the Tribunal was as follows:-
Determination
The Tribunal is satisfied that the parties were on notice of the hearing. There was no appearance by or on behalf of the respondent. The claimant commenced employment in March 2001. His hours were reduced to three days per week in 2009. His employment ceased by way of redundancy in March 2013. He received no notice and no payment in lieu of notice from the respondent.
Based on the uncontested evidence the Tribunal award the claimant a lump sum payment of €2124.00 in lieu of six weeks’ minimum notice under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Acts, 1973 to 2005.
