The appellant claimed that his employment, which commenced on 4 May 2009, ended by reason of redundancy on 16 May 2013. His gross weekly pay was €425.00. He told the Tribunal that the business which had employed him had lost a contract and he was told by telephone that no more work was available. He had tried to contact the employer on numerous occasions but received no reply.
Determination:
Under the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 2007, the Tribunal finds that the appellant is entitled to a redundancy lump sum based on the following details:
Date of commencement: 04 May 2009
Date of termination: 16 May 2013
Gross weekly pay: €425.00
This award is made subject to the appellant having been in insurable employment under the Social Welfare Acts during the relevant period.
