Mr. J. Flavin
heard this appeal at Cork on 1st June 2016
Representation:
Appellant: In person
Respondent: No appearance or representation
Determination:
There was no appearance for or on behalf of the Respondent. The Tribunal is satisfied that proper notice was sent to the Respondent. Accordingly, the Tribunal having heard the uncontested evidence of the Appellant determines that the appeal succeeds and awards the Claimant the sum of €3,525.68, this being eight weeks gross pay as compensation in lieu of notice under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Acts, 1973 To 2005.
The Tribunal having heard the evidence adduced determines that the Appellant was dismissed by reason of redundancy. Accordingly, the Tribunal awards the Appellant a redundancy lump sum payment under the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 To 2007, based on the following information:
Date of commencement of employment: 06th September 1999
Date of notice: 19th February 2015
Date of cessation of employment: 19th February 2015
Gross weekly pay: €440.71
This award is made subject to the appellant having been in insurable employment under the Social Welfare Acts during the relevant period.
