The decision of the Tribunal was as follows:-
The appellant claimed that her employment, which commenced on 1 April 2008, ended by reason of redundancy on 16 June 2014. Her gross weekly pay was estimated to have been on average €600.00
A hearing notice was sent to the address where the respondent’s hair salon had traded but no evidence was offered by or on behalf of the respondent at the hearing.
Determination:
Under the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 2007, the Tribunal finds that the appellant is entitled to a redundancy lump sum based on the following details:
Date of commencement: 01 April 2008
Date of termination: 16 June 2014
Gross weekly pay: €600.00
There was a period of non-reckonable service from 1 August 2012 when the appellant began long-term sick leave to 16 June 2014 when the business ceased.
This award is made subject to the appellant having been in insurable employment under the Social Welfare Acts during the relevant period.
