Determination
The Tribunal is satisfied that all parties were on notice of the hearing. The liquidator notified the Tribunal in writing on the 19 January 2016 that they would not be attending the hearing.
The claimant gave evidence of commencing employment with the respondent company in May 2003. His employment ended in May 2014. The claimant was selected for redundancy without any prior consultation or procedures. The claimant was not given any reasonable explanation by the respondent as to the selection process for redundancy.
The Tribunal having heard the uncontested evidence of the claimant is satisfied that the claimant was unfairly dismissed. Having taken in to consideration that the claimant received statutory redundancy the Tribunal awards the claimant the sum of €15,324.00 under the Unfair Dismissals Acts, 1977 to 2007.
