Procedure:

In accordance with Section 41(4) of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 and Section 6 of the Payment of Wages Act, 1991 following the referral of the complaints/ dispute(s) to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint(s)/dispute(s) and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint(s)/dispute(s).

Both Complaints listed above were deemed to be taken together.

Respondent did not attend and no submissions were received.

Decision:

Section 41(4) of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 (and Section 6 of the Payment of Wages Act, 1991) requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint(s)/dispute(s) in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.

Issues for Decision:

Payment of wages for the period of employment -01/09/2015 to 23/10/2015

Decision:

The Responded did not attend and no evidence was presented by them.

The Complainant attended, produced documentary evidence, a contract of employment and allegedly non honoured payslips.

I found her demeanour and evidence convincing.

I find the claim to be well founded.

I direct that pay for the period claimed – Seven weeks pay at 22.25 hours per week - €12.00 by 22.25 hours by 7 weeks = €1,869 be paid forthwith.

(Hours as per the Contract of Employment signed by both parties).
