Procedure:

In accordance with Section 41(4) of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 following the referral of the complaint(s)/dispute(s) to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint(s)/dispute(s) and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint(s)/dispute(s).

Background

The claimant stated that he was made redundant in 2010 that he was employed again by the by the respondent on a part time basis from the 21st November to the 23^rd April 2016. He stated that he worked 40/50 hours per week and when he was left go that he was not paid any redundancy. The claimant was seeking his redundancy entitlements.

Findings

The respondent did not attend.

Decision:

Section 41(4) of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint(s)/dispute(s) in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.

Based on the uncontested evidence I find that complaint to be well founded and I find that the claimant is entitled to the appropriate redundancy payment for his period in employment.
