Procedure:
In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 and the abovementioned Act, following the referral of the complaint(s)/dispute(s) to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint(s)/dispute(s) and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint(s)/dispute(s).
Background:
The respondent employed the complainant as a software engineer in the period 11th of January 2016 until the 24th of March 2017. He was paid €3,872.49 net per month and worked 40 hours per week. The parties were notified of the time, date and venue set for the hearing. |
Summary of Complainant’s Case:
The complainant submits that he was not paid his wages for the months of November 2016, December 2016 and February 2017 and for 9 days in March 2017 in the total amount of €13,127.74 net. |
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint(s)/dispute(s) in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
Based on the uncontested evidence adduced I find that the complaint is well founded and hereby require that the respondent pay the complainant €13,127.74 (say thirteen thousand one hundred and twenty seven euro and 74 cent) net in compensation. |
