Procedure:
The hearing of this matter was arranged to take place on Thursday 21st September 2017 at 12.30pm in the offices of the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC), Lansdowne Road, Dublin 4. On the 12th September 2017 the WRC received a request from the complainant’s solicitor seeking an adjournment of the hearing as the complainant had received an offer of a family holiday at short notice. The application for the adjournment was refused. Neither party to the dispute attended the hearing.
In accordance with Section 8 of the Unfair Dismissals Acts, 1977 - 2015, following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I was available to inquire into the complaint and give the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.

Decision:
Section 8 of the Unfair Dismissals Acts, 1977 – 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the unfair dismissal claim consisting of a grant of redress in accordance with section 7 of the 1977 Act.
As neither party to the complaint attended the hearing, the complaint is dismissed for want of prosecution. |
