Procedure:
On the 1st June 2016, the complainant referred a complaint to the Workplace Relations Commission pursuant to the Payment of Wages Act. The complaint was scheduled for adjudication on the 12th January 2017. The complainant is a cleaner and the respondent is a provider of cleaning services.
On a previous occasion the Complainant had not attended a hearing of this matter. The WRC re-scheduled a hearing date having been satisfied that the Complainant was on Notice of same. The Complainant has not attended the hearing on the 20th of June, 2017.
The respondent attended the adjudication.
Findings and Conclusions:
As the complainant did not attend the hearing and did not offer any reasonable explanation for his failure to do so, the complaint falls for want of prosecution.
Decision:
Section 41(4) of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint.
