Procedure:
In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 following the referral of the complaint(s)/dispute(s) to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint(s)/dispute(s) and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint(s)/dispute(s).
Background
The claimant was employed by the respondent from the 2nd April to the 24th April 20126 as a driver. He stated that he worked 2 days training that was unpaid. He also worked on the following dates 4th, 9th, 17th, 18th, 20th, and 22nd April and he was to received €125per day. The claimant stated that he was offered another job and he asked the respondent for his wages on several occasions but to date, he has not been paid. He submitted that he was owed €750 plus 2 days training of €100 making a total of €850 gross.
Findings
The respondent did not attend .
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint(s)/dispute(s) in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
Based on the uncontested evidence I find the complaint to be well founded and I award the claimant €850 gross.
