In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint

Background
The claimant was employed by the respondent from the 1st April 1998 to the 10th April 2018.
It was stated that she was given notice of redundancy on 1st April ‘18 and she finished work on the 10th April 2018.The claimant stated that she only received 1 weeks’ notice with pay where she was entitled to 8 week’s pay.
Findings
The respondent did not attend.
I find that the claimant is entitled to an additional 7 weeks’ notice based on her service with the respondent from the 1st April 1998 to the 1st April 2018
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
Based on the uncontested evidence I find the complaint to be well founded I award the claimant the sum of €2576 being the value of 7 weeks’ notice pay
