Procedure:
In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.
The hearing of this matter was arranged to take place on Thursday 11th January 2018 at 9.00am in the offices of the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC), Lansdowne House, Lansdowne Road, Dublin 4. Neither the Complainant or the Respondent attended for the hearing.
With the assistance of WRC staff contact was made with the Complainant who stated that he could not attend the hearing because he was working. When asked if he had contacted the WRC to offer any explanation why he could not attend he said no.

Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint(s)/dispute(s) in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
Due to the non-attendance of the Complainant and his failure to contact the WRC the complaint fails and is therefore dismissed. |
