Procedure:
In accordance with Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Acts 1969following the referral of the dispute to me by the Director General, I inquired into the dispute and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the dispute.
Background:
The complainant stated that he was sick and was dismissed for not attending work. The respondent disputed this and said that he was not dismissed. |
Summary of Complainant’s Case:
Despite having been notified in writing on 11th October 2019 of the date and time of the hearing, the complainant did not attend to give evidence. |
Summary of Respondent’s Case:
The Respondent as well as his representative were present at the hearing. |
Findings and Conclusions:
Given that the complainant did not attend to give evidence, I cannot issue a recommendation that is favourable to him. |
Decision:
Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Acts, 1969 requires that I make a recommendation in relation to the dispute.
I do not make a recommendation that is favourable to the complainant. |
