Procedure:
In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.
Background:
The Complainant was employed as a Project Manager by the Respondent. His employment commenced on 7th August 2018 and ended on 25th April 2019. In his complaint form, the Complainant alleged that he had not received a promised pay increase. The complaint was received by the Workplace Relations Commission on 7th August 2019. |
Summary of Complainant’s Case:
Despite having been informed by correspondence dated 20th August 2019, the Complainant did not attend the scheduled hearing to present his case. |

Despite having been informed by correspondence dated 20th August 2019, the Respondent did not attend the scheduled hearing and no defence was presented. |
Findings and Conclusions:
I am satisfied that the parties were on notice of the hearing arrangements. Given that the Complainant did not attend the hearing to present his case, I do not uphold the claim. |
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
