In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 following the referral of the complaint(s)/dispute(s) to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint(s)/dispute(s) and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint(s)/dispute(s).

Summary of Complainant’s Case:
The Complainant was employed in a number of Bar duties from June 2018 to November 2nd 2018. He had previously worked for the owners and whilst there was a delay in getting paid before he did get paid eventually. The owners told him they had a problem paying wages but that he would get paid. He was not paid for three months he worked in 2018 amounting to 2,654 Euros unpaid wages. |
Summary of Respondent’s Case:
The Respondent was not present at the Hearing but subsequent to the Hearing advised the WRC by email that he would be paying the amount due to the Complainant. |
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint(s)/dispute(s) in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
Based on the uncontested evidence of the Complainant, the Complainant was not paid the wages he was properly due under the Act and I award him 2,654 Euros. |
