1. An appeal of Adjudication Officer Decision No. ADJ-00013297.
BACKGROUND:
2. This is an appeal by a Worker under the Industrial Relations Acts of the quantum awarded by an Adjudication Officer, (AO) of the Workplace Relations Commission, (WRC), who found that his dismissal by Dunnes Stores, following a period of less than one month in employment there, was unfair.
The appeal was referred to the Labour Court on 12thMarch 2019 in accordance with Section 13(9), of the Industrial Relations Act, 1969. A Labour Court hearing was scheduled to take place on Friday, 24thMay 2019.
DECISION:
Dunnes Stores indicated in advance that they would not be attending the Court hearing. The Complainant failed to turn up on time for the scheduled Court hearing. The Court is satisfied that he received notification. Indeed, he turned up late, after the Court had determined that the case falls for want of prosecution.
