1.Unfair Dismissal
BACKGROUND:
2.This dispute concerns the Worker's claim she was dismissed due to sickness. The Worker referred this case to the Labour Court on 10 June 2020 in accordance with Section 20(1) of the Industrial Relations Act, 1969, and agreed to be bound by the Court’s Recommendation. A Labour Court hearing took place remotely on 3 December 2020.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Complainant did not attend the Court hearing to make her case. Therefore, the Court has no basis on which to consider an appeal and the claim cannot be upheld.
