1.Appeal Of Adjudication Officer Decision No. ADJ-00030377 CA-00040877-001

BACKGROUND:

2.The Worker appealed the Adjudication Officer’s Recommendation to the Labour Court on 12 August 2021 in accordance with Section 13(9) of the Industrial Relations Act, 1969.

On 16 July 2021 the Adjudication Officer issued the following Recommendation:-

“I recommend that, in the next resource-planning session for the school where the tutor works, that serious consideration is given to the opening of vacancy for a lecturer in the subject that he teaches.”

A Labour Court hearing took place on 12 November 2021.

DECISION:

Recommendation

The Court notes the willingness of the parties to engage further on this matter, without commitment as to any possible outcome, and the Court recommends that the parties do so, in order to determine if a mutually satisfactory resolution of this dispute can be achieved.
