Procedure:
In accordance with Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Act 1969 (as amended)following the referral of the dispute to me by the Director General, I inquired into the dispute and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any information relevant to the dispute.
Background:
The Worker commenced his employment with the Employer on 1st February 2021. The Worker resigned his position effective from 1st September 2021. The Worker referred his dispute to the Director General of the WRC on 4th October 2021 alleging that he had to leave his job due to the conduct of his Employer or others at work. The Worker sought compensation. Correspondence informing the parties of the arrangements for the adjudication hearing issued on 8th August 2022. I am satisfied that the Worker was on notice of the adjudication hearing. There was no appearance by, or on behalf of, the Worker at the adjudication hearing. |

There was no appearance by, or on behalf of, the Worker at the adjudication hearing. |
Summary of Employer’s Case:
The Employer did not object to an investigation of the dispute by an Adjudication Officer. The Employer attended the adjudication hearing. |
Findings and Conclusions:
A dispute was referred to the Director General of the WRC by the Worker on 4th October 2021. The said dispute was referred to me for investigation. A hearing for that purpose was held on 11th October 2022. There was no appearance by, or on behalf of, the Worker at the adjudication hearing. I am satisfied that the Worker was informed in writing of the date, time and place at which the hearing to investigate the dispute would be held. There has been no communication post-hearing from the Worker to explain his non-attendance. |
Recommendation:
Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Acts, 1969 requires that I make a recommendation in relation to the dispute.
I do not recommend in favour of the Worker. |
