Procedure:
In accordance with Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 - 2014following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.
Despite having been notified of the time and date of the hearing, the Complainant did not attend to give evidence.
Background:
In his complaint form, the Complainant stated that he started working with the Respondent on 31 October 2013 and earned €560 per week. He alleged that despite having submitted an RP9 form in October 2020, following a period of lay off, the Respondent did not pay his redundancy entitlements. |

Decision:
Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 – 2012 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under that Act.
As the Complainant did not attend the hearing to give evidence, I do not allow the appeal. |
