FULL RECOMMENDATION
SECTION 26(1), INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS ACT, 1990 PARTIES : TOYOTA LOGISTICS SERVICE IRELAND (TLSIE) (REPRESENTED BY IRISH BUSINESS AND EMPLOYERS' CONFEDERATION) - AND - 20 GENERAL OPERATIVES (REPRESENTED BY SERVICES INDUSTRIAL PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL UNION) DIVISION :
SUBJECT: 1.Pay Claim and Annual Leave.
Further local discussions took place on the 28thOctober 2021. The Union maintained their claim for 3% and two-days annual leave. The Employer made a further offer of 2.2%, one day’s annual leave from 1/1/22 and .5 (half day) annual leave for 2021. The Employer stated if this was rejected any agreement at a future date would only be with effect from date of agreement. A further conciliation conference was held on the 24thJanuary 2022, as no progress could be made the parties agreed to a joint referral to the Court. The Court having read the submissions of the parties and listened carefully to the oral submissions made on the day recommends as follows: 2.6% pay increase backdated to 1stJuly 2021. Annual leave entitlement to be increased with effect from 1/1/22 from 23 to 24 days. The Court notes that issues in respect of the ‘Kaizen Bonus’ were not part of this process and are being addressed separately. The Court also notes the commitment of the employer to commence further pay discussion for the year commencing July 2022. Implementation of this recommendation should take place as soon as is practical after acceptance of same. The Court so recommends.
