Procedure:
In accordance with Section 79 of the Employment Equality Acts, 1998 – 2015following the referral of the complaint(s) to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint(s) and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint(s).
Background:
The Complainant applied for a role with the Respondent. He alleged that he was discriminated against by the Respondent on Religious Grounds.

The Respondent was in attendance and ready to rebut the allegations made against them. |
Findings and Conclusions:
I am satisfied that the Complainant was notified of the time, date and place for the hearing. In these circumstances where the Respondent was in attendance and the Complainant failed to attend to make out his case, I must dismiss the complaint. |
Decision:
Section 79 of the Employment Equality Acts, 1998 – 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under section 82 of the Act.
I determine that the Complainant was not discriminated against by the Respondent and dismiss the complaint for want of prosecution and failure to attend at the hearing. |
