Procedure:

In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 and/or Section 25 of the Equal Status Act, 2000, following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.

Background:

The Complainant is a minor represented by his mother and is a member of the public. The Respondent is a facilities management company.

This complaint, submitted under section 21 of the Equal Status Act, 2000 was received by the Workplace Relations Commission on 23rd March 2022.

Findings and Conclusions:

The parties agreed a settlement of the complaint with no admission of liability on the part of the named Respondent.

The Respondent will pay compensation to the Complainant in the sum of €2,500.00.

Decision:

Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.

Section 25 of the Equal Status Acts, 2000 – 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under section 27 of that Act.

The Respondent will pay compensation to the Complainant in the sum of €2,500.00.
