Procedure:
In accordance with Section 79 of the Employment Equality Acts, 1998 - 2015, following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.
Background:
The Complainant applied for a job with the Respondent employer and was unsuccessful with their application. The Complainant has brought this complaint alleging Religious discrimination. The facts in this case overlap with those made in ADJ-0003946. |

The Complainant failed to attend at the hearing. |

The Respondent was present at the hearing and ready to rebut the allegations made against them. |
Findings and Conclusions:
The Complainant has failed to attend at the hearing to present their case. No case has been made out against the Respondent. I am satisfied that the Complainant was notified of the date, time and place of the hearing. In these circumstances I must find that the Complainant was not discriminated against on the ground of his religion. I dismiss the complaint. |
Decision:
Section 79 of the Employment Equality Acts, 1998 – 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under section 82 of the Act.
The Complainant has failed to attend at the hearing to present their case. No case has been made out against the Respondent. I am satisfied that the Complainant was notified of the date, time and place of the hearing. In these circumstances I must find that the Complainant was not discriminated against on the ground of his religion. I dismiss the complaint. |
