Procedure:
In accordance with Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 as amended,following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.
Background:
The Complainant referred his complaint to the Director General of the WRC on 3 October 2022 alleging that he did not receive his redundancy payment. Correspondence informing the parties of the arrangements for the adjudication hearing to be held on 21 June 2023 issued on 9 May 2023. There was no attendance by, or on behalf of, either party at the adjudication hearing. I am satisfied that the parties were properly notified of the arrangements for the adjudication hearing. There has been no communication from, or on behalf of, either party during the adjudication hearing or post-hearing explaining their non-attendance. |

Findings and Conclusions:
The within complaint was referred to the Director General of the WRC on 3 October 2022. The complaint was referred to me for investigation. A hearing for that purpose was scheduled on 21 June 2023. The parties were notified in writing by the WRC of the arrangements for the hearing on 9 May 2023. There was no appearance by, or on behalf of, either party at the adjudication hearing. I am satisfied that the parties were properly notified of the arrangements for the hearing. |
Decision:
Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 as amended requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under that Act.
I declare the complaint to be not well founded. |
