Workplace Relations Commission Adjudication Officer: Catherine Byrne
Date of Hearing: 15/03/2023
Procedure:
In accordance with section 13 of the Industrial Relations Act 1969 (as amended), this dispute was assigned to me for adjudication by the Director General. A remote hearing was arranged for March 15th 2023 at 9.30am, for the parties to present evidence in relation to the dispute. A manager attended on behalf of the employer; however, the employee did not attend. I was informed by the case officer that he phoned the employee on three occasions in the days leading up to the hearing, to arrange to send her the link for the remote hearing, but she did not respond to his calls and she did not reply to efforts to contact her by email.
Recommendation:
Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Act 1969 requires that I make a recommendation in relation to the dispute.
In the circumstances in which the employee did not attend the hearing, I recommend that the employer takes no further action regarding the matter in dispute. |
