Procedure:
In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 following the referral of the complaints to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaints and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaints.
These matters were heard by way of remote hearing pursuant to the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2020 and S.I. 359 of 2020, which designates the WRC as a body empowered to hold remote hearings.
Background:
The Complainant submitted claims under section 27 of the Organisation of Working Time Act, 1997 and section 7 of the Terms of Employment (Information) Act, on 7th of December 2023.
A remote Hearing of both claims was held on 25th of March 2024. |

The respondent was in attendance at the hearing. |

Findings and Conclusions:
On review of the correspondence on file I am satisfied that the Complainant was notified of the hearing date and time. The complainant failed to attend the hearing to pursue his case. In the circumstances I am satisfied that the complaint should fail. |
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
The Complainant offered no evidence and did not attend at the hearing. Accordingly, I declare this claim to be not well founded. |
