Procedure:
In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015following the referral of the complaints to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaints and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaints.
Background:
The Complainant submitted a complaint of discrimination by the Respondent.
Summary of Complainant’s Case:
The Complainant did not attend the hearing convened to hear his complaints.
Summary of Respondent’s Case:
The Respondent was not requested to address the complaints due to the non-prosecution of them by the Complainant. However, the matters raised were addressed by them in written format, prior to the hearing and that document was forwarded to the Complainant.
Findings and Conclusions:
Having been notified of the arrangements for hearing the complaints, the Complainant did not attend the hearing or provide an explanation for his absence. I therefore find his complaints to be not well founded.
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaints in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
As the Complainant did not attend the hearing to prosecute his complaints I have decided that the complaints are not well founded.
