Procedure:
In accordance with Section 79 of the Employment Equality Acts, 1998 – 2015following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.
Background:
This matter was heard by way of remote hearing pursuant to the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2020 and S.I. No. 359/2020 which designates the WRC as a body empowered to hold remote hearings. The complainant did not attend the hearing of this matter. The respondent did attend the hearing. The complainant wrote to the WRC in advance of the hearing to state that he would not be attending. |

Findings and Conclusions:
The complainant did not attend the hearing of this matter. He did not present any evidence, either oral or written, to advance his contention that he was discriminated against. Arising from the foregoing, I find that the complainant was not discriminated against in accordance with the Employment Equality Act. |
Decision:
Section 79 of the Employment Equality Acts, 1998 – 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under section 82 of the Act.
Having considered this complaint, my decision is that the complainant was not discriminated against in accordance with the Act |
