Procedure:
In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.
Background:
The Complainant was received by the Workplace Relations Commission on 19 December 2023. There was engagement from the Complainant prior to the hearing but on the day there was no attendance. After waiting longer than the usual time, several efforts were made to contact the Complainant on the telephone number provided. It appeared to be turned off.
There has been no communication from the Respondent and attempts were made contact the restaurant via telephone again at the hearing.

Findings and Conclusions:
After waiting a reasonable period of time and attempts made to contact the parties, I find the Act was not contravened where the Complainant did not attend at the hearing. |
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
The Act was not contravened. |
